  • 15th Annual Ouray Ice Festival: 1-7-10 through 1-10-10-This ain’t no Ice Capades, this is the ice climbing community’s favorite gathering of top competitors, climbing and local companies, spectators and good times! Osprey will be on hand as a proud sponsor of this event with Friday’s (1/8) presentation, “Waypoint Namibia” by climber/adventurer/author Majka Burhardt and free pack demos, fittings and giveaways throughout.   • An Evening with Majka Burhardt-1/12/10, 6:30PM-9:30PM, Dolores Community Center, Dolores, Colorado. An Osprey sponsored fundraiser for the Colorado Environmental Center featuring a slideshow presentation and book signing by Osprey athlete and world class climber/writer Majka Burhardt. Also featured: Great gear giveaways and complimentary adult recreational beverages.
  • SYRCLs Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival with Home Show-Ongoing-Osprey is proud to be a national sponsor(along with Clif, Tom’s of Maine and Sierra Nevada Brewing) of the Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival for 2010.   • Outdoor Retailer All Mountain Demo (formerly Backcountry Basecamp): (trade event) 1-20-10- The O.R. All Mountain Demo provides the opportunity for the outdoor industry attending Outdoor Retailer to experience the products they sell with on-snow demos at the Snowbasin Ski Resort in Ogden, UT. Osprey will be on hand providing free pack demos perfect for Alpine, Telemark and Nordic skiing, free pack fittings, great gear giveaways and all the new gear for 2010.   • Blue Ridge Outdoors/Outdoor Adventure Media Go Outside and Play Roadshow Events-1/10 through 12/10-The 2010 Go Outside and Play Roadshow is coming to a town near you! BRO is hitting the road to encourage event participants to become more involved with their local outdoor community and to inspire spectators to be more active in the outdoors.   • Subaru Freeskiing World Championship Qualifier: 2/5/10-2/8/10 -Osprey will be present Friday and Saturday providing free pack demos, sizings, fittings, great gear giveaways with info and demonstrations on all that is new for 2010. Event is part of 2010 partnership agreement with attendance required.
  • (BIKE) Ray’s Angels Women’s Mtn Bike Weekend, 2/19/10-2/21/10-Ray’s MTB Indoor Park, Cleveland, Ohio-A women’s specific mountain bike weekend with events, exhibits and frolicking fun at the Midwests most recognized indoor mountain bike park.
  • Youth Climbing League-Oakland, CA: THE YCL is a 10 week climbing program for youths 7-17 with coached practice sessions, four competitions and one Championship Competition.   • (*TBD)Pacific Crest Trail Fest, Portland, OR-2010 Dates yet to be determined but I anticipated the last weekend in March-3/26/10-3/28/10-This is the PCTA’s biggest annual event - Trail Fest is an opportunity to learn more about the trail and how to get the most out of your recreational and volunteer experiences through trail classes, guest speakers and an exciting vendor fair.

  • Osprey International Sales Meeting-4/13/09-4/18/09  
  • (BIKE) Sea Otter Classic, Monterey, CA: 4/15/09-4/18/09-Billed as a “Celebration of Sport” The Sea Otter Classic is THE definitive North American cycling Event. A bicycling and outdoor life sports festival, The Sea Otter Classic offers international racing, beginner through professional and includes mountain biking events, such as cross country (XC), downhill (DH), dual slalom (DS), mountain cross, short track (SXTC), trials and jump contest. The elite professional mountain bike races are part of the NORBA racing calendar and sanctioned by USA Cycling. Velonews wrote of the event, From humble origins in 1991, when just 450 attendees populated the event, to 2008, when almost 10,000 participants and 50,000 spectators packed the venue for the four-day festival, Sea Otter has become a fixture on the spring calendar. While the event began as a bicycle race, and continues to feature road and mountain bike races, the consumer expo has become a primary draw. These days, the Sea Otter Classic has become a de-facto spring trade show and consumer fair, where industry insiders launch new products, tease future releases, and use the opportunity to interact directly with a captive spectator audience.

  • 5 Point Film Festival-Carbondale, Colorado: 4/29/10-5/2/10.   • Appalachian Trail Days, Damascus, VA-5/13/10 through 5/16/10-Trail Days celebrates the Appalachian Trail, the hikers, former hikers, and aspiring hikers who converge there each year. Osprey will be on hand once again providing free gear repairs, free pack fittings, information on all that is new for 2010, Great Gear Giveaways and fantastic deals through Mt. Roger’s Outfitters.  
  • New River Rendezvous, New River Gorge, West VA. - 5/14/10-5/16/10-Festival of Climbing in the New River Gorge of West Virginia in association with Waterstone Outdoors. This is an Osprey sponsored event with representatives on hand exhibiting all that is new for 2010, providing free pack demos and great gear giveaways.  
  • 12 Hours of Mesa Verde Mountain Bike Race-5/8/10-Phil’s World, Cortez, CO: This is a grassroots 12 hour mountain bike relay race on a stellar network of single-track known as Phil's World.  The race course twists and turns through juniper trees, intermittent technical spots, and fast descents - all in the shadow of Mesa Verde. All proceeds benefit Montezuma County Partners.  
  • Mountain Film, Telluride, Telluride, CO, 5/28/10 through 5/31/10. Educational and inspiring adventure, environmental and travel films in an all out festival atmosphere.  

June 

  • Breast Cancer Fund Climb Against the Odds, Mt. Shasta, CA, 6/13/09 through 6/19/09: Join an inspiring team of women and men in a mountain expedition for breast cancer prevention. Together, the team will demonstrate that - like working to prevent this disease - anything is possible if taken one step at a time. (breastcancerfund.org). 
  • Teva Mountain Games, Vail, CO, 6/3/10 through 6/6/10-A celebration of mountain sports and attitude. Osprey Sponsored Event, Osprey Gear Town Exhibit featuring free sizing, fittings, demos and great gear giveaways with great savings at the Bag n Pack Shop.  
  • Dolores River Festival, Dolores, CO, 6/5/2009. The Dolores River Festival is a community celebration of the Dolores River and the many ways it connects us to each other, the environment, and our resources. Join us for a full day of great music and exciting activities. 
  • American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day 2010-Saturday, June 5, 2010-Nationwide; On June 5, 2010, American Hiking Society and outdoor enthusiasts across the country will celebrate the 18th annual National Trails Day® (NTD), a long-standing celebration of America's magnificent trail system and its countless supporters and volunteers. More than 1,500 events will take place around the country including trail maintenance, hiking, paddling, biking, horseback riding, bird watching, running and trail celebrations.  

July 

  • (TBD)-Tahoe Home Rim Trail Fest (by Alpenglow Sports) 2009 event was held 7-11-anticipate near same for 2010. Tahoe City, California. Trail Fest is designed to promote and celebrate the hundreds of miles of hiking, cycling and paddling trails in and around Tahoe City, and providing a chance for folks to get outdoors and have fun. All proceeds of the event go to the Tahoe Rim Trail Association, a local non-profit that built and maintains the Tahoe Rim Trail and offers many educational programs and events. A full day and array of hiking, biking and paddling events featuring product exhibits and demos.  
  • International Climber’s Festival, 7/8 through 7/12, Lander, Wyoming: A non-competitive climbing event where climber’s get together to celebrate all things vertical.  
  • (TBD) Osprey/Colorado Fourteeners Initiative Volunteer Weekend – A weekend of Colorado Fourteener trail building and restoration work featuring a wide array of Osprey Team Member Volunteers, Outdoor Industry partners and CFI. 

August

  • CDTA TrailFest 2010, Buena Vista, CO, 2010 dates yet to be determined The Continental Divide Trail Alliance annual celebration featuring Get on the Divide Adventures, exhibits, live music, great food and fun for the whole family. Osprey will be on hand (TBD-the day prior) 4PM-7PM to provide free technical daypack demos during registrations. We will be on hand for Saturday’s entire TraiFest event providing free pack demos, professional pack fittings and great gear giveaways.   • Music on the Mountaintop, Boone, N.C.-8/27-8/28 2010-Extended to two full days! (With Volunteer River clean TBA-Osprey Packs is a proud sponsor of Music on the Mountaintop one of the most eclectic and ecologically driven musical events offering first class entertainment combined with a positive environmental message! The mission of the Music on the Mountaintop folks is to bridge the gap between traditional business and environmental stewardship. Through the medium of music they hope to educate while entertaining, offering practical and useful information to help people live a more sustainable and green lifestyle. They hope that by offering the best musical talent, as well as positive environmental message, that they can change the world one person at a time.   • Montezuma Land Conservancy Harvest Beer Festival, 2010 Date yet to be Determined-The Montezuma Land Conservancy exists to permanently protect open lands working with landowners in Montezuma and Dolores Counties, Colorado. The Brew Fest is an Osprey sponsored fundraising event featuring a wide array of locally handcrafted microbrews, food, live music and a killer silent auction.   • The Women’s Adventure-Boulder, Colorado-2010 Dates yet to be Determined-Sponsored by Women’s Adventure Magazine, The Women’s Adventure is an all-day, non-competitive event where you are invited to join us to test out and win sponsor products and gear, try new sports, attend mini-skills-clinics, sample food, wine and beer – all in the stunning outdoor setting of Boulder, Colorado. Scheduled demo and clinic times along with open-access testing allow you to have as much or as little structure as you want.   • Nor’Easter – September 24-26– at Loon Mountain in Lincoln, NH.The Nor’ Easter powered by Eastern Mountain Sports is a first of its kind Music, Sports & Conservation festival at Loon Mountain in Lincoln, NH. The Nor’ Easter is designed to define the music & lifestyle of the outdoors combining climbing, music, art and conservation into one action packed weekend. Overall Osprey presence YTB but certain we will be on hand with an exhibit, fee pack demos, sizings, fittings and great giveaways.  
  • National Public Lands Day-Nationwide-2010 Date Yet to be determined-assuming 9/25/10- National Public Lands Day is the nation’s largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance the public lands Americans enjoy. In 2008, 120,000 volunteers built trails and bridges, removed trash and invasive plants, and planted over 1.6 million trees. Osprey will celebrate the spirit of National Public Lands Day by providing volunteers for an exciting and educational day of trail work and maintenance at Mesa Verde National Park near Mancos, Colorado.   • Austin City Limits Music Festival, Austin, TX, 10/8/10-10/10/10-The biggest, baddest, most esteemed music festival The Lone Star State has ever known! (details are altogether sketchy at this point, hope to know more concerning Vendor/Sponsorship opportunities soon and hope to partner with Backwoods to provide four days of incredible pack sales, sizings, fitting, giveaways and more). 
  • (BIKE) 24 Hours of Moab, Moab, Utah-10/9/10-10/10/10-The country’s premiere 24 hour bike race. Negotiating details currently but it is Osprey’s intentions to exhibit and demo Manta, Raptor and other packs to all who need them.  
  • Taos Mountain Film Festival, Taos, NM, 2010 dates yet to be Determined-anticipating 10/7/10 through 10/10/10 Taos Mountain Film Festival features films of adventure, culture and wildlife of the world's remote regions. Mountain Film also examines threats to the environment and human rights. The Festival presents mountaineering films and personalities, as well as symposia, photography exhibits, and readings from mountaineering literature.
