Washington Climbers Coalition pays off Access Fund Land Conservation Campaign loan for Index, returning funds to the revolving loan program
7/13/10 - The Access Fund, the national advocacy organization that keeps U.S. climbing areas open and conserves the climbing environment, announced today that the Washington Climbers Coalition (WCC) has paid back its loan to the Access Fund for the option agreement on Lower Index Town Wall in Washington.

4th Annual HERA Climb4Life Colorado Raises More Than $27,000 For Ovarian Cancer Research
6/22/10 - The HERA Women's Cancer Foundation (Health, Empowerment, Research, Awareness) completed another successful HERA Climb4Life event, raising more than $27,000 for its ovarian cancer research and community grant programs and awareness initiatives.
 
Feds Issue Permit to "Take" Jaguar and Ocelot
6/21/10 - The Center for Biological Diversity has learned that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service issued a permit on June 14 to the Arizona Game and Fish Department allowing the state agency to “take” jaguars and ocelots, which can include killing, injuring or otherwise harming the rare felines.

6/7/10 – The Access Fund, the national advocacy organization that keeps U.S. climbing areas open and conserves the climbing environment, announced today that it will provide Red River Gorge Climbers’ Coalition with short-term financing to pay off the current seller-financed loan on the Pendergrass-Murray Recreational Preserve in Kentucky’s Red River Gorge.

5/24/10 - From nationally known iconic sites to little-visited enclaves that teem with wildlife, the 15 national parks, wildlife areas and state parks most threatened by the ongoing BP/Gulf oil blowout will be identified in a new report by the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and the Rocky Mountain Climate Organization (RMCO).
